These terms cover using gardenruler.com: the guides and plant profiles, and the garden-tracking app. By creating an account or otherwise using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Your account
You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account. The information you give us at sign-up should be accurate, and you're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
2. Plans and billing
The free plan requires no card and no payment. Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a monthly or annual schedule; current plans, limits and prices are on the pricing page rather than repeated here, so this document doesn't go stale when they change.
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your billing settings. Your plan stays active through the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again after that. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods except where the law requires it.
3. The content on this site
Guides and plant profiles are written to be genuinely useful, general-purpose gardening information — not professional agricultural, medical, legal or financial advice, and not a substitute for it. This matters especially for anything involving foraging or medicinal plants: always positively identify a plant before picking or using it, and talk to a qualified professional before treating any health condition. We do our best to be accurate, but growing conditions vary enormously by climate and site, and we can't guarantee a particular result in your own garden.
Some pages contain affiliate links, disclosed on the page itself and explained in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
4. Your garden data
Whatever you enter into the tracker — garden and bed layouts, plantings, notes, tasks — is yours. We store it so the app can show it back to you, and we don't use it for anything else. Deleting your account deletes this data permanently; see our Privacy Policy for the details.
5. Acceptable use
Using the site, please don't:
- Try to gain unauthorized access to another account or to parts of the site that aren't public.
- Scrape or bulk-copy the site's content, or republish it as your own.
- Use the contact form or any other part of the site to send spam or abusive messages.
- Interfere with the site's normal operation or try to disrupt it for other users.
We can suspend or close an account that does any of these, with or without notice.
6. Our content
The site's guides, plant profiles, design and code belong to GardenRuler unless stated otherwise. You're welcome to link to our pages; please don't republish our text elsewhere without asking first.
7. No guarantees
We work to keep the site accurate and running smoothly, but it's provided as-is, without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from relying on its content — including a garden that doesn't turn out as planned.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We can also suspend or terminate an account for breaking these terms, particularly the acceptable-use section above.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
10. Governing law
GardenRuler is based in Kentucky, and these terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
